The last time the world communist movement collectively attempted  to elucidate a theory and politics to guide its common activity was in 1961 with the 81 Party Statement. Since then there have been initiatives and meetings of Communist parties, but these efforts have never gone beyond trying to achieve unity around a minimum agreement. Because of a failure to engage in the work and struggle to develop a comprehensive understanding of the present stage of social development and the world situation, nothing lasting has come of these efforts.

We suggest, therefore, that the most important political task for Marxists today is to develop a theory of revolution for this period of history. To accomplish this demands the study, production and propagation of marxism.

Our goal is to use this site as a contribution to this project essential to the revitalization and unity of the world communist movement. We hope the materials herein will stimulate discussion and study among groups and individuals. We invite our readers to join with us in this activity, by sending us their comments and materials.
